JOIN US FOR THE 6TH ANNUAL TOSS THE BOSS FUNDRAISER!

Friday, October 2nd, 2026

Toss the Boss is Vancouver Island's most courageous community fundraiser, where local leaders step up to leap off WildPlay's 150ft bridge in support of brain injury survivors and their families.

Businesses and organizations sign up to fundraise as a team, and nominate a leader to take on the bungy jump. Every dollar raised goes to the Nanaimo Brain Injury Society, providing vital programs and services for those living with brain injury right here on Vancouver Island.

Toss the Boss transforms a single jump into lasting support; funding advocacy, connection and supportive programs for families navigating life after brain injury.

I think people really appreciate the event as a symbol of facing challenges together. It's symbolic of brain injury survivors and families that face incredible challenges every day trying to access services, supports, information and resources to not only survive but thrive after brain injury.

Kix Citton, NBIS Executive Director

The work that the Nanaimo Brain Injury Society does to help those living with brain injuries is huge! While I am terrified of heights, if me jumping off this bridge helps raise money for this important cause, it’s the least I can do.

For over 35 years, the Nanaimo Brain Injury Society has worked with people on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Snuneymuxw, Snaw-naw-as, and Stz'uminus First Nations. We are grateful and acknowledge the strength, knowledge, and leadership of Indigenous communities. We recognize that health and community services have not always respected the rights or self-determination of Indigenous Peoples, and that these impacts are still felt today. NBIS remains committed to listening, learning, and doing better.
